12-11-23-This Sunday November 19th-Reuben Tice will reform and play one last show. They were the music Petri dish from where Skyhooks came from. Greg Macainsh and Tony Williams played in The Tice. It will be at St Andrews hall (1PM-4PM). Admission will be $20.00. Note there are no ATM's in the area so please make sure you bring cash! Reuben Tice will also have their 4 CD box set available and other merchandise. See you at The Tice! Tony Williams will indeed be on lead vocals.

15-09-20-It's with sadness that we have to post that one of the original Skyhooks- Peter Starkie has passed away (age 72). A tragic accident on Sunday led to his death. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Bob and family during this sad time.

As mentioned previously we found a beat up cassette from 41 years ago. As young fans we recorded the Welcome Back episode-(hand held, old tape recorder).
This Countdown episode is one of the holy grails for Skyhooks fans-long long gone from the ABC vaults. The audio is rough (and it's been tidied up, after several tape snaps and mangling) so this is it.

19-03-17-Sadden to hear of the death of Chuck Berry, an inspiration to so many. As Skyhook fans would know one of the few covers the 'Hooks played (and released) was Chuck's "Let It Rock". All 3 Skyhook lead singers have performed the song in the live set. Bob Starkie a huge fan too, and many of you would of seen him play in his Chuck Berry Tribute over the years. Rock In peace Chuck.

09-10-15-What a fun night. Thank you to all the 'Hook fans that made it along to the Palais to see the band with the very talented Ross Wilson on lead vocal. "Horror Movie", "Balwyn Calling" and "All My Friends Are Getting Married" and adding some additional vocals to the finale- "Shout". The standing ovation was great to see. Was it the last time?, who knows- but it was a really enjoyable night for us all! Expect a few photos etc on the Skyhooks Facebook page later this afternoon. Special thanks to the Rockwiz people who really looked after us.

19-10-14-A fire at 4AM this morning at the iconic St Judes Anglican Church at Carlton. It has it's place in history as the first gig Skyhooks ever played-way back in April 1973. Fire fighters kept the flames at bay to the back of the building and St Judes is still standing- $500,000 damage bill.
14-10-14-Forty years ago today- "Living In The 70's" first debuted on the National chart. Eventually peaking at #1 and holding the top spot for 16 weeks. It's still the record for consecutive weeks at #1 by an Australian band all these years later.

28-07-12-A fun surprise for many at Bob Starkies 60th birthday bash at the St Kilda Bowling Club last night. A "reformed" Skyhooks entertained the masses, playing 6 songs (Carlton, Balwyn Calling, Horror Movie, Living In the 70's, Women In Uniform, All my friends are getting married). The line up: Bob Starkie, Greg Macainsh, Fred Strauks, Bob Spencer & Laura Davidson from that cool AC/DC cover band hitting some perfect high notes during "Women in Uniform". A fun night, it would be great to see this "lineup" play again for the public, but no plans at this stage. Tony Williams commenting how fantastic they were, sadly Redmond missed them (scampered off for his early morning radio slot).

01-06-12-The Shirl book has involvement from the various Skyhook members, a fantastic foreword from Greg Macainsh & quite a few of his rare photos have been used too. Add to that the Strachan clan with marvellous tales & many of their private photos from the family album. It's a book Skyhook fans will return to many times.

Arts Minister Simon Crean described the registry as a celebratory collection that belonged to the entire nation.
"The registry is an opportunity for all Australians to help choose the music, speeches, jingles, natural and man-made sounds to be preserved for future generations,'' he said.

It's a history of entertainment in the St George area and yes Skyhooks do get a mention. Stage costume from 1975, Tour itinerary etc. Soooo many great shows at Hurstville Civic Centre- some fine memories. The museum is located at 14 MacMahon St, Hurstville. 14-03-09-Good to see Redmond MCing at todays SOUND RELIEF concert at the Melbourne MCG. 81,000 people attended and it was an amazing show for us all. During my Split Enz boys set, they finished with I SEE RED. So as a bit of a dare- I looked at Red, winked and he walked across the stage during the chorus with the crowd chanting "I see red'- and there he was RED! Quite a funny moment! Good to see he still has that wit about him.

15-02-09-Good to see Bongo Skyhook treading the boards at the Myer Music Bowl- Rockwiz concert a few days ago. 12-11-05-A fantastic coffee table style book called PLASTERED is now on the market. Large and glossy it is the history of Australian Music Posters. Loads of Oz bands and artwork (some album covers). A few Skyhooks posters inside the book as well as the original artwork for the EGO album.
7-11-05-Thanks to all of you for the many emails around Steve Hill. His funeral was in Sydney today, many of the Skyhooks attended and Steve''s family and friends. For those of you who asked, he was born on 10-11-52.

5-11-05-Our old mate Nui from the Melbourne Sun newspaper has penned a tribute to Steve Hill in todays issue (Saturday).
31-10-05-Some sad news for all of us I'm afraid. At 9.00 this morning, Skyhooks original lead singer Steve Hill passed away. As many of you know Steve had been battling cancer over the past year. Six weeks ago he performed at a benefit concert in his honour at the Annandale Hotel and it was a magic night for all concerned.
Steve Hill RIP.
